Podium and top finishes: CUBE athletes delivered

From triathlon to mountain biking, CUBE athletes delivered impressive performances on the international stage over the past race weekend.

TRIATHLON

Lucy Charles-Barclay triumphs at Ironman Lanzarote

Lucy Charles-Barclay made a powerful start to the new season with a dominant performance at Ironman Lanzarote. The Brit controlled the race from the very beginning and claimed a convincing victory in 9:15:39.

As expected, Lucy made an early statement in the swim, exiting the Atlantic after 47:02 minutes with a clear lead. She continued to extend her advantage on the demanding bike course and started the marathon with more than ten minutes in hand. The 32-year-old remained in control throughout the run and eventually crossed the line 26:23 minutes ahead of runner-up Nina Derron.

With this outstanding result, Charles-Barclay also secured qualification for the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii this October.

Funk fights back to seventh place at the Challenge Championship Šamorín

Frederic Funk faced a major setback early on at the Challenge Championship Šamorín. During the swim, the German suffered a panic attack and lost valuable time, forcing him to fight his way back through the field rather than competing at the front from the outset.

Funk responded impressively, refusing to give up and steadily working his way back into contention. After a determined comeback performance, he eventually crossed the finish line in seventh place.

The CUBE Factory Racing Team delivered another strong weekend of racing at the World Cup round in Nové Město na Moravě.

The team particularly impressed in the U23 categories. Maruša Tereza Serkezi and Nikolaj Hougs both delivered strong performances in the Short Track races against highly competitive fields before narrowly missing out on the podium with impressive fourth-place finishes in the XCO races.

In the Elite races, Kira Böhm and Ondrej Cink delivered solid performances in highly competitive fields: Kira fought her way to 22nd place, while Ondrej secured 20th place in front of his home crowd.

The CUBE Factory Racing Team now leaves Nové Město full of motivation and anticipation for the next World Cup round in Leogang.
