Lucy Charles-Barclay is no stranger to sporting success, with a background in elite open water and distance swimming that can be traced back to when she first took to the water, aged eight. She had a natural talent and, by age 16, she was already a national champion.
Having begun her triathlon career in 2014, she went on to win the 18-24 women's category the following year at the 2015 Ironman World Championships, as an amateur. Switching to CUBE bikes in 2021, she became the Ironman 70.3 World Champion in St. George the same year. The following year she won the ITU long distance World Championship in Samorin. Then, in 2023, she set a new course record in Hawai'i to take the Ironman World Champion title. Speaking at the time she said, "I've dedicated my whole career to trying to win this race and it's taken me five attempts, but I've finally done it!"
She followed up that victory by also becoming the 2025 Ironman 70.3 World Champion in Marbella. But championship wins aren't her only prizes – alongside these outstanding successes, she's also accumulated more than two dozen additional wins and podium places over the years. Based near London in the UK, she works closely with CUBE's design teams, engineers and the CUBE Carbon Lab to help refine both her race bikes' exceptional performance and their outstanding looks.
