FREDERIC FUNK

Vice World Champion 2023 - Ironman 70.3

Frederic has already been at home in the competitive structures of triathlon since 2011. His last year as a junior Frederic finished as German Champion and a qualification for the World Championships. In 2018, he proved that he is one of Germany's great triathlon talents: four middle distance races with four podium finishes and for the first time with a professional license.

In his first year in the jersey of the Erdinger Perspektivteam and on a CUBE bike he took six podium finishes at Challenge Family and Ironman 70.3 races. Frederic continued to build on this success the following year with three Challenge Family wins – including the title of ETU European Middle Distance Champion. He rounded off a great 2022 season in style with a fifth-place finish at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship and established himself as a strong contender in the elite ranks.

In 2023 he definitely has now joined the world's top triathlon athletes and won the silver medal at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Lathi, Finland.
