Recall chin pads CUBE helmets

Dear CUBE Customer,

During sample testing carried out on CUBE helmet components on our behalf by a German test lab in accordance with the EU REACH regulation on harmful substances, some chin pads were found to contain the plasticiser DINP (diisononyl phthalate) and in isolated cases the plasticiser DEHP (diethylhexyl phthalate).

Following a detailed analysis of the chin pad fabrics, the plasticisers used in the current production process were found in a PU layer used for flocking. Skin contact with the affected fabric over an extended period of time cannot therefore be ruled out when wearing a CUBE bike helmet.

In the interests of your safety, we are therefore recalling all chin pads used on CUBE helmets. Please immediately remove the chin pad from your CUBE helmet via the touch fastener and destroy it.

In parallel we have already produced replacement chin pads without flocking and therefore without the PU layer concerned. Replacement chin pads are available free of charge from your CUBE dealer. If you have any questions, please contact us using the contact form available on our website.
