Strong victories on the road and podium success in the Enduro World Cup & more
GEORG ZIMMERMANN IS THE NEW GERMAN CHAMPION
Georg Zimmermann, rider for the Intermarché-Wanty team, claimed his first-ever German Road Championship title on Sunday, June 29.
On the challenging 198-kilometer course in Linden with 3,330 meters of elevation gain, the 27-year-old from Augsburg prevailed in the intense heat to secure his first national title.
Zimmermann, who had already won the Giro d’Abruzzo earlier this year, will proudly wear his new German champion’s jersey at the upcoming Tour de France, starting July 5 in Lille.
The young talents of the Wanty-NIPPO-ReUz team also celebrated national successes:
- Mewael Girmay, brother of Biniam Girmay, won the Eritrean U23 Time Trial Championship.
- Shunsuke Imamura became the Japanese Elite Time Trial Champion on Sunday – another prestigious title for the team.
SIMONA KUCHYNKOVA ON THE ENDURO WORLD CUP PODIUM ONCE AGAIN
There was also reason to celebrate at the Enduro World Cup: Simona Kuchynkova secured another podium finish at the race in Canazei, Italy.
Riding her CUBE Stereo ONE55, the young Slovakian claimed an impressive 3rd place after two intense race days and six demanding stages.
Despite the extreme heat in the Dolomites, Simona confirmed her outstanding form – just one week after winning the national downhill championship.
Zakarias Johansen also delivered another solid performance, finishing in 12th place in Canazei and once again demonstrating his consistent season form.
In the overall Enduro World Cup standings, Simona remains in 2nd place, while Zakarias holds 7th place. The team continues to defend 2nd place in the 2025 team rankings.
