Successful start to the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup season

The Factory Racing Team makes a successful start to the UCI MTB World Series in Brazil. On two weekends in Mairipora and Araxá, Kira Böhm dominated the U23 category with a series of victories in the short track and cross country races. Finn Treudler successfully rounded off the season opener with two podium finishes in the cross country races in the same age category.

1. Stop: Mairipora, Brazil

Kira Böhm twice successful at first World Cup

Despite the subtropical heat in Brazil, Kira Böhm secured first place in the U23 women's category in the short track (XCC) on Friday, winning her first World Cup. On Sunday, the 21-year-old from Weilheim once again dominated the U23 women's cross country (XCO), riding her AMS C:68X to an unstoppable victory and her second World Cup success. After her double triumph and outstanding performance, she will start the second World Cup weekend in Brazil as the overall leader in the U23 category.

Strong races by the U23 men

Finn Treudler and Luke Moir also made an impression by being among the front riders in the U23 men's race. After finishing sixth in the short track (XCC) on Friday, Swiss rider Treudler secured a front row starting position for the cross country (XCO) race. He then proved his top form again on Saturday, finishing in bronze. In the same race, South African Luke Moir achieved a strong fifth place. In the cross country (XCO) in the elite category, the current Norwegian champion Knut Røhme completed the successful team result with a 25th place.

2. Stop: Araxá, Brazil

Kira Böhm still on the road to success

At the second stop of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Araxá, Brazil, Kira Böhm of the CUBE Factory Racing Team once again dominated and remained unbeaten.

She continued her winning streak in the short track race on Friday. After an attack on the last lap, she was able to break away from the field and crossed the finish line with a clear lead. On Sunday, the 21-year-old also managed to demonstrate her current strength with good race tactics in the cross-country race. Together with two other riders, Kira took the lead in the U23 women's field during the race. The trio stayed together until the start of the last of a total of six laps, when the young German started her attack. As in the previous week, Kira dominated her competitors and quickly pulled away. With a lead of 12 seconds, she secured her 4th World Cup success in a row and thus further extended her lead in the overall standings of the U23 women.

Another podium finish for Finn Treudler

In the U23 men's cross country race on Saturday, the men of the CUBE Factory Racing Team also showed that they are on the rise. Finn Treudler got off to a good start after his 7th place in the short track the day before and was able to pull away from the other riders after increasing his pace together with Riley Amos. The two battled it out until shortly before the start of the final lap, when the later winner Amos was able to open up a small gap that the young Swiss rider was unable to close. In the end, Treudler secured a strong second place and thus finished on the podium again a week after his bronze position. South African Luke Moir also put in a strong performance and rounded off the good team result with 6th place.
