The fifth-generation Bosch CX and CX-R motors already offer an exceptional blend of rider support and performance across a wide range of riding scenarios. With the latest Performance Upgrade 2.0, Bosch puts even more control – and the potential to unlock better acceleration and more power – in the hands of the rider.
The free software update – available for compatible motors and bike models – unleashes up to 120Nm torque (standard values: CX 85Nm; CX-R 100Nm) and pushes the maximum available rider support to 600% (standard values: CX 340%; CX-R 400%). The Update will be released via the eBike Flow app on the 4th of May.Maximum power of 750 watts is also available for longer. Maximum rider support of up to 600% is limited to speeds between 0 and 15km/h (this doesn't affect the speed limit of 25km/h for pedal assistance, which remains the same).
Sliders in the eBike Flow app make it easy to control this extra performance across several riding modes, delivering up to 40% more torque and up to 76% more rider support than the standard values, depending on riding conditions. You can identify update-ready bikes with this icon:

For bikes that have already been used, the condition of the drivetrain components should be checked by a qualified dealer before any upgrade. This helps prevent malfunctions and damage. Regardless of this, it is essential to adhere to the recommended service intervals, as increased load, power and torque can accelerate wear.
