Packaging great performance, low weight and safe-but-fun handling into a smaller frame isn't always easy, but we love a challenge. The Stereo ONE44 HPC Rookie's frame combines 140mm of refined suspension kinematics with perfect proportions – in two sizes – and all the advantages of our advanced carbon construction. We added a replaceable gear hanger in case of accidents, and the internal cable routing keeps gear shifts cleaner for longer. It's the complete, pint-sized all-mountain package.

Highlights
We love a challenge, and we know our younger riders do too. That's why the Stereo ONE44 HPC Rookie is a scaled-down version of our popular Stereo ONE44 trail bike, complete with carbon frame, easily adjustable suspension and reliable components. It's every inch a trail explorer's bike.

Arguably our most ambitious bike for young riders so far, the Stereo ONE44 HPC Rookie moves the bar for kids' bikes even higher. From its perfectly proportioned carbon frame to the 150mm Marzocchi Bomber suspension fork and rear shock, it's a serious bike for having serious fun on the trails. We chose Schwalbe's dependable Nobby Nic 2.4in tyres for their grip and cushioning, complemented by the smooth power of Magura's MT Trail Sport hydraulic disc brakes. And Shimano's 1x12 Deore gears serve up a huge gear range and the peace of mind of legendary reliability. It's a winning combo.

A wider hub makes a stiffer wheel, and a stiffer wheel means better handling. That's the thinking behind the Boost 148 rear hub standard, which allows wider flange spacing for better wheel performance without impacting on shifting accuracy or drivetrain efficiency. Simply put, you can go faster and harder with better handling and stronger wheels.
Agile Trail Geometry is a development of our popular and well received Agile Ride Geometry, with a focus on riders who enjoy pushing their limits on the trails. By lowering standover height and allowing more room for the rider to move around over the bike, we've created a setup that rewards adventurous line choices. Because, after all, it's all about having fun.
Our Efficient Trail Control series works in the background so that everyone can have more fun on the trail. A low leverage ratio and linear compression rate are the technical way of saying that these bikes are very sensitive to trail obstacles, whilst remaining insensitive to pedal-induced bob and giving a full range of travel.
Our high end aluminium frame models are built using Advanced Hydroforming. This manufacturing process uses high pressure fluid to change an aluminium tube's shape, making the best use of the material's properties and maximising strength whilst miminising weight. It all helps reduce the number of welds, resulting in a frame that performs and looks better in every way.
