Attention to detail is a CUBE obsession. That's why, with the Kathmandu's Integrated Carrier 3.0, we designed it to work seamlessly with our ACID mudguard. We've fitted a flat mount for the rear disc brake – it also accommodates the kickstand – and used Smooth Welding to give the frame joints a tidy, organic appearance. But it's not all about looks. We also equipped the rear end with a thru axle and added a tapered head tube for improved rigidity and steering precision, even when fully laden. With Internal Cable Routing to keep your gear shifts smooth with minimal maintenance, we reckon we've thought of everything. Just don't forget your toothbrush.

Now you can tread a little more lightly on Mother Earth, thanks to the Kathmandu SLX's front light, mudguards and tyres made from sustainable materials. The elegant frame with Integrated Carrier 3.0 also features a neat, sturdy flat mount kickstand and a distinctive prizmsilver paint finish. It's all you need for low-impact, low-carbon travel.

Our Tapered Head Tube serves three purposes. First, it provides a large surface area for top and down tube joints, for the best possible strength and durability. Second, it helps ensure steering accuracy for confidence-inspiring and safe handling. And third, it does all this without any unnecessary increase in weight.

The Integrated Carrier 3.0 is the next level in system integration: from the side, it's hard to tell where the luggage carrier ends and the mudguard begins. But it doesn't just look good, it's also incredibly strong and rigid. With an integrated spring clamp and CUBE Rilink ready adaptor for mounting bags and baskets, it transforms your CUBE into an adaptable and versatile load carrier.

Our trekking series is designed to take you wherever your curiosity leads you. So, of course, you'll want a comfortable ride. With a natural feeling seated position and handling that's stable and reassuring with or without a load, Trekking Comfort Geometry does exactly what it says no matter how much experience you have of cycling.

Smooth Welding isn't easy, but worthwhile things usually aren't. It has two advantages. First, and most obviously, it looks great: one tube seems to almost flow into the other. Second, and at least as importantly, it helps to minimise load peaks on welded areas for better frame strength and durability.

Cables for your gears and brakes are essential, but you don't necessarily want to see them all the time. Our semi internal cable routing takes gear and brake cables through the down tube for a cleaner appearance, smoother shifts and reduced maintenance. So your CUBE bike looks good and continues to function as it should, and you just concentrate on enjoying the ride.

CUBE's Aluminium Superlite starts with heat-treated 6061 aluminium, which has the qualities – high fatigue resistance, good stiffness, low weight and excellent strength – that are important for a bicycle frame. Then we make it into double butted tubes, to reduce weight without sacrificing any of its strength. The result? Exceptionally light, strong and tough frames.
