Lucy Charles-Barclay Wins Ironman Lanzarote


CUBE athletes were at the start line across Europe this past weekend. In numerous competitions, they delivered strong performances and impressed with excellent results. 

TRIATHLON – CLEAR VICTORY FOR LUCY IN LANZAROTE 
At the prestigious Ironman Lanzarote, Lucy Charles-Barclay left no doubt about her intentions. From the very beginning, she took control of the race, making a decisive break especially on the bike, and confidently defended her lead all the way to the finish. After 9:17:15 hours, she crossed the finish line as the well-deserved winner and secured her ticket to the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii.  

MTB – XC, DOWNHILL & ENDURO WITH TOP RESULTS
Downhill – World Cup, Bielsko-Biala 
Rain, snow, and changing conditions made the Downhill World Cup in Poland a special challenge. The CUBE Factory Racing Team remained steady and defied the weather: Max Hartenstern impressed with a strong eighth place. Jess Blewitt made a comeback from injury, finishing in 13th place. In the junior category, Kasper Hickman placed sixth in his World Cup debut, and Rosa Zierl finished fifth among the junior women.  
Enduro – World Cup, Bielsko-Biala 
At the second race of the UCI Enduro World Cup in Poland, the CUBE Actionteam showed impressive team cohesion. Simona Kuchynkova finished eighth and moved up to fourth in the overall standings. Zakarias Johansen came in 13th and currently sits seventh overall. Fredi Matz earned additional points, helping the team secure second place in the day’s team classification and maintain third place overall.  
Cross-Country – Bike the Rock, Heubach 
The traditional race in Heubach once again offered exciting courses and a strong field of competitors. On the demanding track, the CUBE Factory Racing Team showed consistent performances. Kira Böhm finished fifth in the Elite classification, and Ella Maclean-Howell delivered a strong finish to take third place in the U23 category.

Our Next Generation Team was also successful: Marusa Tereza Serkezi dominated the junior women’s race and claimed a commanding victory.  

ROAD – INTERMARCHÉ-WANTY WITH STRONG PERFORMANCES 
Biniam Girmay sprinted to a strong second place at the one-day classic Rund um Köln.

The team also made a mark at the Giro d’Italia: On stage 6, Taco van der Hoorn was part of a breakaway group, making a strong statement. He was only caught 2.5 kilometers before the finish – an impressive testament to the team’s committed effort.
