We know a thing or two about making fast cross-country race frames, but the Reaction C:68X moves the bar even higher. How? For starters, we used our premium C:68X® carbon for the ultimate in low weight, high strength and ride comfort. We redesigned the seat tube junction to incorporate an integrated seat clamp. It's a small touch, but – along with Internal Cable Routing – it complements the frame's clean aesthetic and elegant, organic lines. And there's an adjustable angle headset, so you can tweak your bike's handling to suit your own taste.

A seriously rapid bike demands serious components in the pursuit of speed. Which is why, for the Reaction C:68X SLX, we began by selecting a Fox 32 SL Performance SC fork with remote lockout – to help you keep the rubber side down and pointing where you want it. Sram's GX Eagle Transmission 1x12 gears serve up the huge range and crisp, accurate shifts you'd expect. A Newmen Phase 30 wheelset shod with Schwalbe's Racing Ray and Racing Ralph 2.25in tyres delivers rapid acceleration and all the grip that you need. And, last but by no means least, Magura MT8 Pro hydraulic disc brakes give you the power you need to brake harder, later, and stay on the gas for longer.

Combining all our expertise from carbon frame building into the ultimate material, C:68X® carbon uses the optimum blend of fibre and nano particle-infused resin. Precision Advanced Twin Mold manufacturing means we can avoid bonded sleeves or inserts, too. It's the new benchmark for light, stiff and strong.

When you're harnessing gravity, the trail is challenging and every second counts, the geometry of your CUBE is a critical component. That's why our adjustable headset allows you to tweak head angle, so you can set your bike up just the way you like it. A little slacker for more stability, or a little steeper for better agility. The choice is yours...

A wider hub makes a stiffer wheel, and a stiffer wheel means better handling. That's the thinking behind the Boost 148 rear hub standard, which allows wider flange spacing for better wheel performance without impacting on shifting accuracy or drivetrain efficiency. Simply put, you can go faster and harder with better handling and stronger wheels.

Cables connect your handlebar controls to vital components like gears and brakes, but there's no need for them to get in your way. With Internal Cable Routing we've reduced clutter and maintenance by running cables through the frame, keeping them out of the way of dust and water contamination – or damage from abrasion – as well as cleaning up your bike's appearance.

For off-road riding you need a bike that responds quickly, but also feels stable and secure. That's where Agile Ride Geometry comes in. Offering an ideal blend of on-demand steering precision, climbing agility and descending stability, it's perfect for every rider who values their time on the trail. If you're a mountain biker, you'll instantly feel at home...

A dropper post is a great accessory for adventurous riding, adding confidence and control on steep descents. Our Dropper Post Ready bikes are all set for this worthwhile upgrade, because they include internal cable routing for the remote lever that controls the seatpost. Once installed, you'll forget it's there... until you need it.

One standard for all: gear hanger replacement made easy thanks to the innovative Universal Derailleur Hanger. With a design that includes some room for pivoting to help prevent chain jams, it improves shifting performance and works with all drivetrains. Best of all, it's a standard part that is available anywhere.

With our Advanced Twin Mold process we use two precisely manufactured forms for our C:62®, C:68® and C:68X® carbon frames. The first form is to ensure an accurate layup. The second, inner form keeps every individual fibre precisely where it needs to be while the frame cures. The result is a significantly lighter, stronger frame, with fibre density tailored to anticipated loadings at specific points.
