A lighter touring bike means you can take more with you, but low weight is no good without strength. That's why, for the CUBE Kathmandu Hybrid C:62, we used our tried-and-tested C:62® carbon to build a frame structure that combines the load-bearing capacity you need with the comfort and ride handling that you'd expect from CUBE. With a UDH derailleur hanger, Advanced Internal Cable Routing and a Boost rear axle, it's both elegant and easy to live with. The Integrated Carrier 3.0 blends neatly into the frame structure and offers a sturdy platform for carrying whatever you need to take with you. Add the 400Wh battery, and it's the complete package for lightweight hybrid touring.

With its C:62® carbon frame and rigid carbon fork, the Kathmandu Hybrid C:62 SLX blends rugged adaptability with lower weight, for a ride difference you can feel. The Bosch SX motor, 400Wh battery and compact LED remote with Kiox 500 display continue the svelte theme, delivering up to 60Nm of torque via Shimano's wide-ranging XT 1x12 gears and rugged Newmen Beskar 30 wheels shod with grippy Schwalbe G-One Overland 50mm tyres. Powerful Shimano XT hydraulic disc brakes mean you can slow and stop safely in all weather conditions. And there is, of course, a full complement of practical accessories so you're ready for anything, whether it's a trip across town or over land. It may be light, but it's no lightweight.

Not all carbon is created equal. With our C:62® carbon we increased the high modulus fibre content, then we reinforced the resulting material with nanoparticles incorporated into the bonding resin. Which is all just a fancy way of saying it's extremely strong, light and durable.

How important is material choice? When it comes to the fork that holds your front wheel, more important than you might think. Not only is our Carbon Fork exceptionally light and strong, it's also surprisingly comfortable to ride. And, when you're weaving your way through city streets, those are all qualities that you'll appreciate.

Gear and brake cables need a way to get from handlebar controls to frame – but what if there was no need for holes near the head tube? We came up with a design that takes cables into the frame via the headset, maintaining full internal cable routing but making it even neater and less obtrusive.

Bosch SX technology incorporates a new, lighter and more configurable battery setup. To make the most of the weight saving, we've integrated the new battery fully into the down tube. This means we can position it optimally for the best weight distribution and handling, as well as saving more weight by building a down tube that's precisely the right size to fit, and without the need for an access hatch. And the Power More option means you can add an additional 250Wh battery quickly and simply, for extra range. It's the best of both worlds.

The Integrated Carrier 3.0 is the next level in system integration: from the side, it's hard to tell where the luggage carrier ends and the mudguard begins. But it doesn't just look good, it's also incredibly strong and rigid. With an integrated spring clamp and CUBE Rilink ready adaptor for mounting bags and baskets, it transforms your CUBE into an adaptable and versatile load carrier.
