A weekend for the history books: CINK wins the World Cup in Leogang - CUBE Team shines in all disciplines
What a weekend it was for our CUBE athletes. At the UCI MTB World Cup in Saalfelden Leogang – Salzburgerland, our riders delivered outstanding performances across Cross-Country, Downhill, and Enduro. The emotional highlight:
Ondřej Cink’s first-ever Elite XCO World Cup victory – in truly challenging conditions.

CINK MAKES HISTORY IN LEOGANG
On Sunday, June 8th, Ondřej Cink reached a major career milestone: he claimed victory in the UCI World Cup Cross-Country Elite Men’s race – at the age of 34, his first-ever World Cup win. The race was both mentally and technically demanding, with muddy conditions putting riders to the test. Cink stayed near the front from the start, and in the final laps he managed to pull away from Mathias Flückiger to cross the finish line 18 seconds ahead – visibly emotional.
This win marks a number of firsts:
- First Elite XCO World Cup win for the CUBE Factory Racing XC Team
- First Elite XCO World Cup win for CUBE
- A meaningful location for victory – Cink became U23 World Champion in Leogang in 2012
“I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment. This track means so much to me. I hit a real low with two laps to go, but when I saw the gap, I dug deep and gave it everything I had,” Cink said after the race.

U23 XCO: DOUBLE WIN FOR FINN TREUDLER
Just two days earlier, Finn Treudler took the win in the U23 Short Track. On Sunday, he followed up with another dominant performance in the U23 XCO race, pulling away early and finishing with a commanding 47-second lead.
“Taking the double is something really special,” said Treudler. “The track changed every lap – it was super demanding, but absolutely worth it.”
With this result, he extends his lead in the overall World Cup standings.

DOWNHILL: ROSA ZIERL TRIUMPHS IN FRONT OF HOME CROWD
Another highlight came from Rosa Zierl: the Austrian rider secured her first-ever World Cup win in the Junior Women’s category, on home soil. With an aggressive yet composed run, she beat Aletha Ostgaard and was celebrated at the finish by an enthusiastic local crowd.
More strong results in the Downhill World Cup:
- Jess Blewitt (Elite Women): 5th place – a strong comeback after her injury layoff
- Max Hartenstern (Elite Men): 10th place – another solid result in a strong season
- Kasper Hickman (Junior Men): 6th place – consistently in the Top 10 in his debut World Cup year

ENDURO: CUBE ACTIONTEAM TAKES TEAM WIN
At the UCI Enduro World Cup in Leogang, the CUBE Actionteam took first place in the team classification. A special milestone: Simona Kuchynkova secured her first-ever Elite World Cup podium, finishing 2nd overall after more than 7 hours and 6 grueling stages in tough conditions. Zakarias Johansen also impressed with a 6th place finish in the Elite Men’s category.
“A team win, second place for Simona, sixth for Zakarias – that shows how well prepared we are this season. Even in the toughest conditions, we can rely on the CUBE Stereo ONE77. Let’s keep this momentum going!” – Claus Wachsmann, Team Manager.
TRIATHLON: LUCY CHARLES-BARCLAY WINS IRONMAN 70.3
While the action was unfolding in Austria, Lucy Charles-Barclay was racing in the USA – and winning. She claimed a wire-to-wire victory at IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman, dominating across swim, bike and run to finish over a minute ahead of the field. A strong signal to the triathlon world as she heads into this weekend’s T100 Series race in Vancouver.
