National Championships, Tour TOP 10, Hawaii Qualification and gravel success – CUBE Athletes Celebrate an all-round Strong Race Weekend
A weekend full of highlights lies behind our CUBE athletes: From national championship jerseys across several countries and strong results at the Tour de France to a first-ever Hawaii qualification, there was plenty to celebrate. The gravel scene also provided reason to cheer, with an overall victory in Winterberg.
MTB – Seven National Championship titles for CUBE Athletes
While the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series took a weekend break, national championships were taking place across Europe. Our CUBE athletes made the most of the opportunity, collecting a total of seven national championship titles.
In Germany, Kira Böhm claimed her first German Short Track (XCC) Championship title in Wombach. On Sunday, she followed this up with a second-place finish in the Olympic Cross-Country race, securing another medal. Ondřej Cink dominated the Elite competition in the Czech Republic to claim the Czech XCO National Championship title once again. In Finland, Kasper Hickman successfully defended his Downhill title, while Maruša Tereza Serkezi took two silver medals in Slovenia, finishing runner-up in both the XCC and XCO races.
The CUBE Next Generation athletes also enjoyed a highly successful weekend in the Netherlands: Isis Versluis won both Junior Women's titles in the XCC and XCO. Cas Timmermans followed a bronze medal in the Short Track with the Dutch XCO Junior title, while Daan Bakelaar took victory in the XCC and rounded off the weekend with third place in the XCO.
Maéca Baca of the Heizomat CUBE Team also had reason to celebrate. In her first Elite season, she became Dutch National Champion in the XCO – an outstanding achievement!
ROAD – TotalEnergies back in the Tour de France Top 10
The TotalEnergies team also delivered consistently strong performances at the Tour de France.
On Stage 13, Jean Jegat finished seventh and Nicolas Breuillard 14th, giving the team two riders in the top 15. After another top-20 result for Jegat with 19th place on Stage 14, he followed it up with 14th place on Stage 15. After two weeks of racing, Jegat is now sitting in a strong 10th place in the overall classification, while TotalEnergies is also currently tenth in the team classification.
With one more week of racing still to come, the goal now is to defend these strong positions and continue fighting for every place.
TRIATHLON – Frederic Funk qualifies for Hawaii
Just two weeks after Challenge Roth, the German professional finished sixth at the IRONMAN Pro Series race in a time of 8:04:29, securing his qualification for the IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii. The race will take place on 10 October 2026 in Kailua-Kona.
Congratulations to Fred on this fantastic result. We are already looking forward to seeing him on the start line on the Big Island!
GRAVEL – Kevin Kuhn wins 3RIDES in Winterberg
There was also plenty to celebrate in the gravel scene at 3RIDES in Winterberg.
The Heizomat CUBE Team got off to a flying start in the opening time trial, with Kevin Kuhn taking the win ahead of team-mate Joris Nieuwenhuis in second place for a strong one-two finish. On the second day, the CUBE riders continued to deliver strong results, with Kuhn finishing second and further top-10 results for the team.
In the end, Kevin Kuhn celebrated the overall victory at 3RIDES Winterberg 2026. Joris Nieuwenhuis rounded off the strong weekend with third place in the overall classification.
