CUBE Action Team

Sofia Wiedenroth

Sofia Wiedenroth is a strong addition to the German manufacturer's international enduro team. A familiar face on the mountain bike circuit, Sofia already has several years of racing under her belt for the German cross-country squad. A string of successes to her name include silver at the under-19 worlds. Her first foray into the up-and-coming enduro discipline at the German Enduro Championships landed her straight on the second step of the podium. Sofia now joins the CUBE Enduro World Series squad starting from 2019 and plans to make her mark on the women's elite category.

About Sofia

What music do you use to motivate yourself in the last 30 minutes before your start at the EWS races?

Difficult to say as I listen so many different genres.

What do you like best about riding an e-bike?

I love the freedom it gives you to hit so many trails in such a short time!

What is your training must-have?

Fun!

How do you recover after a long day of training?

I usually go swimming in the lake.

What do you do when you are not sitting on the bike?

You’ll usually find me in, at or on Lake Constance. I also spend a lot of time playing poker with my friends.

What is your biggest strength?

I would say I’m mentally very strong, which lets me push past my limits.

What is important to you?

It’s important to make time for my family, partner and friends between all the racing, big training volumes and frequent travel.

How do you motivate yourself?

When I think of the feeling of mountain biking in general, the adrenaline, the speed, the experiences, the action and the danger.

What is your motto?

If you want to know your limits, you must be able to push past them.

Do you have any tips for newcomers to the enduro scene?

Try to go on a 5-6 hour mountain bike ride and hit every downhill section as hard as you can. That will give you a taster of what to expect!
