Cadre

Cadre : Un beau vélo est souvent un vélo efficace. Bien sûr, ce n'est pas, et de loin, suffisant pour concevoir un cadre de compétition XC exceptionnel, mais nos ingénieurs ont la faiblesse de croire que c'est une condition nécessaire. C'est pourquoi, par exemple, ce cadre intègre de façon naturelle les haubans à la fixation de l'amortisseur. C'est aussi la raison pour laquelle vous ne verrez aucun roulement ou axe apparent et pourquoi nous avons fait passer les câbles à l'intérieur du cadre (en prévoyant un dispositif pour le Di2). Quant au matériau employé pour le cadre, vous devez vous en douter, c'est le carbone C:68. Mis en śuvre grâce à notre technologie Advanced Twin Mould, il fixe de nouveaux standards en matière de légèreté et de rigidité. Boost 148 ? Il l'a. Douille de direction conique ? Oui, il l'a. Who can I contact if I have a problem with my CUBE bike?

CUBE Dealer

Your first port of call should always be the CUBE shop where you bought the bike. Only the CUBE dealer with which you have the original sale contract is commited to processing complaints and warranty queries. Other CUBE dealers can process complaints handlings on a voluntary basis, but are not obliged to.

How long do I have guarantee / warranty on my CUBE bike?

WARRANTY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Your CUBE bike is warranted to be free from manufacturing defects for 2 years with effect from the date of sale. In addition, we provide our customers with the following warranty in the event of frame breakage outside the statutory warranty period as follows:

For all frames and rigid forks from model years 2011 and older we guarantee from the date of sale from the dealer:

Aluminium 5 Years Guarantee
Titanium 5 Years Guarantee
Carbon, Alu-Carbon 2 Years Guarantee

For all frames and rigid forks from model year 2012 we guarantee from the date of sale from the dealer:

Aluminium 6 Years Guarantee
Carbon, Alu-Carbon 3 Years Guarantee

If a break occurs during this period (from date of sale), we will replace the frame with the same or similar. This warranty applies only to the frame. The cost of components necessary for the frame's function (e.g. seat post, derailleur, handlebar and stem, suspension fork …), even where a replacement frame necessitates replacement of some or all of these components, must be borne by the customer.

EXCLUSIONS:

For Fritzz, Hanzz, Two15, for all dirt bikes, and all frame exchanges add on parts are not included into this extended warranty. Here the 2 years limited warranty applies.

We reserve the right to repair defective frames or parts or to replace them with the corresponding updated model. A condition of the warranty is normal use of the bike in accordance with the manufacturer’s stipulations.

Modification work outside the statutory warranty period (2 years) is not carried out or refunded by us free of charge.

We therefore request that the customer be fully aware of this stipulation on conclusion of the sales contract in order to avoid possible misunderstandings at a later date.

EPO warranty

For all EPO 2011/2012 series Pedelecs with goSwiss rear wheel hub drive we grant a 2 year warranty for display, engine and battery. Warranty for the battery is limited to 1000 charge cycles with a remaining capacity of up to 80%. For Pedelec models built after 2013 we grant a 2 year warranty beginning with the date of sale. We ask you to inform the customer about exclusions and limitations in order to avoid any future misunderstandings. For our Hybrid Pedelec model frames the general CUBE warranty and guarantee conditions apply. For the Bosch motor and its associated components Bosch's own warranty conditions apply. Details about the Bosch system, the Bosch warranty and any limitations and conditions can be found in the Bosch manual which is enclosed with the bike. Any warranty claim relating to the Bosch motor must be processed via the Bosch service scheme.

BOSCH warranty:

The warranty period lasts 24 months from the date of sale of the eBike to the end consumer, but no later than 6 months after delivery of the Bosch components to the bike manufacturer. If the end consumer's eBike is intended for commercial use ( e.g. rental company, messenger service), the warranty period lasts 12 months.

Battery Pack warranty

A minimum of 500 charging cycles or 70% (300Wh) and 60% (400Wh) respectively of the nominal capacity (based on information stored on the Battery Pack) within the warranty period.

Damage resulting from improper use. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of a Pedelec bike in a bike park or similar, overstrain through jumping or any alteration of the original Bosch system.

Special case: carbon frame and carbon forks

We offer you and your customer a CCR Service (CUBE Crash Replacement Service) = exchange service for damaged carbon frames and carbon forks. This exchange service is intended to provide an uncomplicated and cost-saving exchange service for your customer following a crash which results in damage to the frame/carbon forks.

Excluded from the guarantee and warranty are all forms of damage due to improper use or use not in accordance with manufacturer stipulations (e.g. use of a standard frame as a dirt bike, fitting double crown forks, extension of suspension travel, overstressing due to jumps etc.) and all defects due to normal wear and tear. The extended warranty does not apply to the Fritzz, Hanzz, Two15 model, all dirt bikes and carbon frames and all fitted components necessitated by a frame swap.

Is it possible to transfer guarantee to a second buyer?

The guarantee becomes null and void when the original buyer sells the bike.

What are parts subject to wear and tear and how long are they covered by guarantee?

The following is a non-exhaustive list of parts subject to wear and tear:

  • Rims (where rim brakes are fitted)
  • Tyres
  • Chains
  • Chainrings
  • Sprockets
  • Hub bearings
  • Sealed bearings
  • Headsets
  • Bearing sets on full-suspension frames
  • Wires and cables
  • Disc brake rotors
  • Brake pads
  • Handlebar grips
  • Saddles
  • Bushings, seals and bearings used in suspension components (fork, rear shock) and dropper seat posts
  • (Non-)rechargeable batteries used in electronic systems

Parts subject to wear and tear must be serviced and maintained regularly in order to ensure they work smoothly. Components subject to high loads and stresses, such as chains and bearing sets, must be replaced regularly.

Please note that parts subject to wear and tear are not covered by the standard guarantee and/or warranty.

C:68 Carbon Fiber Technology

Le sigle C:68 désigne la nouvelle technologie fibre de carbone de CUBE. Extrêmement innovante, elle permet de minimiser les apports de résine et d'augmenter la teneur en fibres de carbone. La technologie Spread Tow permet d'alléger le cadre en réduisant la quantité de résine et en augmentant la quantité de fibres. Grâce à sa teneur de 68 % en fibres et à l'inclusion de nanoparticules directement dans la résine, ces cadres sont plus rigides que jamais. C:68 - la trilogie parfaite : légèreté, rigidité, plaisir.

Le fait de faire passer les câbles à l'intérieur du cadre offrent de nombreux avantages. Cela prolonge la durée de vie des câbles en évitant qu'ils ne s'encrassent, permet de gagner du poids puisqu'il est inutile de les gainer et contribue à épurer et à affiner les lignes du cadre.

        We optimized our new dropout design based on the Syntace X12 through-axle system, enlarging the area of the frame where the hanger is mounted. We can now fit the longer Direct Mount hangers. Shifting precision and stiffness is therefore improved. With the new design it's also possible to swap the whole contact area of the axle with the hanger should the system be worn out.

        We ran innumerable tests to develop the Agile Ride Geometry in our series of big wheel bikes. We also added the 27.5in wheel size to the very well received portfolio. Three important details lead to the very agile character. Increased fork offsets let us achieve the same trail as our 26in bikes without having to steepen the head angle, thus maintaining generous toe clearance to the front wheel. Secondly we shortened the chain stays without compromising the seat angle. We invented a patented construction to mount the front derailleur to give us more tyre clearance while keeping a conventional seat angle, leading to a perfect riding position for every rider size. Last but not least we kept the BB height the same as on our 26in bikes. These measures lead to a natural riding position. Every mountain biker will feel immediately at home on a CUBE 29er or 27.5.

        Boost 148mm technology provides precise handling, on every trail, in every situation. The hub flange moves 3mm towards the outside on both sides. It increases the stiffness of a 27.5? wheel by 14% and, for a 29er wheel, by 21%. The reason is the spoke’s wider support in comparison to the 142mm hubs used previously.

        CUBE’s highly innovative new C:68 carbon fibre technology allows us to build better bikes than ever. Typically,
        carbon fibre frames are around 60% carbon fibre, with the rest being the resin that bonds the fibres together. By distributing carbon fibres evenly, we can make thinner layers within the frame and reduce the amount of resin. Those fibres are a mixture of Ultra High Modulus, High Modulus Spread Tow and Intermediate Modulus carbon, each chosen for the needs of the particular area of the frame. Nanoparticles within the resin itself allows it to be distributed more evenly when under pressure in the frame mould. The result is a range of frames with 68% carbon fibre – lower weight, higher stiffness, more fun.

        Our Efficient Ride Control concept is now also applied to our newly developed 27.5 frames like the AMS 130 and AMS 150. With Efficient Ride Control particular attention has been given to delivering the identical optimum riding experience to every rider, irrespective of body size. We've designed the linkage geometry on a model-by-model basis so that all frame sizes have the same travel and spring rate curves. In addition, the kinematics have been optimized specifically in relation to travel in respect of sensitivity, drive and no bobbing. For this it was necessary to specially position all rear pivot points. Whether the rider is large or small, with any of these models he will always have the optimum ride experience.

        Sophisticated suspension kinematics are only able to work correctly if the associated shock is properly tuned. We researched and found a specific shock setup in cooperation with Fox Racing Shox, using extensive testing for almost every CUBE full-suspension model.

        The key requirement is for continuously active and fully usable travel, with the rear triangle unaffected by pedalling or especially braking forces. There are a number of ways of achieving this – CUBE favours a four bar design with a chainstay pivot. Here, one of the pivots is located between the dropout and the chainstay, ensuring that braking does not have a negative effect on the movement of the rear wheel. By carefully positioning the remaining pivots, we obtain the finest riding qualities for our full suspension bikes both uphill and downhill. This fact is proven by many top test results in leading magazines over the last few years.

        Internally routed cables offer many advantages. Cables are protected from dirt for longer life, weight is saved thanks to the absence of external housing and the bike has a clean, sleek appearance.

        The post mount rear brake system is found on all carbon fiber frames and top aluminum full suspension models. Two bolts and the IS adpater aren’t needed anymore, and fewer parts means less weight. In this case we save 30 grams. This may not sound a lot. But there's potential to save weight in every detail.

        Dropper seat posts are getting more and more widespread, but to integrate them optimally in the frame, they have to be factory fitted. With the Stealth Ready frames, it is possible to build in a dropper seat post with internally routed cables, which besides the clean look, helps prevent any cables getting jammed. The exit of the cable on the frame – if not required – will be sealed with a cover for protection.

        This steerer tube design is stiffer than a conventional straight steerer and yields a more secure ride feel even in difficult terrain. Minimal flex at the front of the frame means the greatest possible steering precision. With the larger steerer, the forks become more rigid. At the same time weight is saved due to the absence of bearing shells as the lower bearing is fully integrated into the head tube. On all of our CUBE carbon models the upper bearing shells are also directly in the frame, so that once more a few grams are saved and the energy transfer is very direct.

        In this system, a cone is used to form a play-free connection. It is only necessary to tighten the axle from one side. The position of the wheel is done by an insert in the right-hand dropout which is secured by a bolt. The main advantages of the Syntace system are quick and simple changing of the wheel, reliable position of the brake disc and higher stiffness of the rear of the bike. This allows the assembly to be made lighter than a conventional through-axle.

The main frame, linkages and chain stays each consist of one single part. Maximum stiffness and the most modern building process deliver the best energy transfer.         With Press Fit bearings, the bottom bracket bearings are pressed directly into the frame and not screwed in as usual. This gives a wider bottom bracket shell and allows us to build a wider down tube and more broadly-spaced chainstays. Every millimetre of additional width gives a significant improvement in lateral stiffness.
