FLYING CIRCUS

SRP*:

The Flying Circus is the rebirth of a CUBE legend - our dirt jump and pump track bike is back. With perfectly balanced geometry for ærial antics, it's not just a tough cookie but a good-looking one, too - designed with strength in mind but with an eye on æsthetics, too. Choose the top tube length that best suits your riding style, then use the super-short chain stays to manual to your heart's content. The dropouts are adjustable and we even fitted an integrated headset to reduce weight. With a Manitou Circus Comp fork, 28T BMX crank, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes and singlespeed setup, you've everything you need to perfect your steeze.

Details

When you're at the pump track or your local dirt jump hangout, the last thing you need is to be worrying about your frame. That's why, with the Flying Circus, we applied all our aluminium frame-building expertise to construct a chassis that's stiff, strong, light and perfectly balanced... whether your wheels are earth-bound, or not. A BSA-threaded bottom bracket gives you a wide choice of crank options, while the jump-specific geometry with super-short chain stays puts you firmly in control. And, like all our frames, this one has been through the testing mill in our own in-house lab, so you can rest assured it's more than strong and durable enough to withstand some spirited riding. If you're a frequent flyer, you really ought to check it out...

Technology

      • Advanced Mechanical Forming

With our Advanced Mechanical Forming technology we can mechanically transform different frame tubes and thus optimize them without material-wearing welding work for the respective requirements. Along the obtained organic look, the production method is primarily motivated by functional reasons. Multiple converted tubes enable us to manufacture lighter and also stiffer aluminum frames.

      • Frame Safe System

To protect our high-end aluminium frames from damage, they are built with the CUBE Frame Save System replaceable derailleur hanger. The mounting thread is in the hanger and not in the frame as usual. In case of a crash, this hanger can be easily and quickly replaced by a new one.

      • Aluminium Lite

6061 aluminium alloy requires a heat treatment for the finished product. It is a stiff, very corrosion resistant, fatigue resistant,high-elongation material suitable for light tubesets with high stiffness.

      • Wet Paint Surface

On polished, brushed aluminium and all HPC frames, the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint. We use this surface treatment technology mainly to save weight.

  • Icon of CUBE technology Tapered Steerer

      • Tapered Steerer

This steerer tube design is stiffer than a conventional straight steerer and yields a more secure ride feel even in difficult terrain. Minimal flex at the front of the frame means the greatest possible steering precision. With the larger steerer, the forks become more rigid. At the same time weight is saved due to the absence of bearing shells as the lower bearing is fully integrated into the head tube. On all of our CUBE carbon models the upper bearing shells are also directly in the frame, so that once more a few grams are saved and the energy transfer is very direct.
