The Editor is an ultra-light urban bike bursting with state-of-the-art high-end components - including the Gates drive belt and Alfine 11 speed hub gears. But it was also important to our designers that this bike had sleek and elegant looks. The Editor represents a virtuoso performance of style, speed and skill; an efficient bike using cutting edge technology.
Because we're using an advanced drive belt, we added specail features to the Editor's double butted aluminium frame. The precision-forged Split & Side dropout can be opened to fit the belt, and accurately adjusted with two screws. When we were designing the frame we aimed for a specific torsional stiffness, because this is the only way the belt can be aligned accurately when under pressure. As for why the frame is so light, only our engineers know the reason for that...
The Editor is kitted out exclusively with high end components designed for urban use, including the Shimano Alfine gear system with 11 speed hub and Alfine shifter, and matching Deore BR-M615 disc brakes. This high tech bike features the Gates CDX CenterTrack crank and matching drive belt, whose groove system ensures that it's always perfectly aligned. It's also absolutely silent and needs virtually no maintenance. The Editor can easily be retrofitted with mudguards, a kickstand, luggage rack and frame lock. The minimalist rigid aluminium fork perfectly complements the frame's sleek design and saves weight, whilst also ensuring that the steering is direct and precise.
