CUBE Bikes confirms Sofia Wiedenroth as new Actionteam rider

The 23-year-old German joins Greg Callaghan, Gusti Wildhaber and Zakarias Johansen on the CUBE Bikes racing squad for 2019.

Sofia Wiedenroth is a strong addition to the German manufacturer's international enduro team. A familiar face on the mountain bike circuit, Sofia already has several years of racing under her belt for the German cross-country squad. A string of successes to her name include silver at the under-19 worlds. Her first foray into the up-and-coming enduro discipline at the German Enduro Championships landed her straight on the second step of the podium. Sofia now joins the CUBE Enduro World Series squad starting from 2019 and plans to make her mark on the women's elite category.

"The CUBE Actionteam has always been my ultimate goal ever since switching to enduro. For me, long-term success is about having a focussed and professional team around you, and the Action Team has it all in spades. I'm hoping the professional support will be a massive boost to my training and racing and am already looking forward to sending it in the 2019 race season!", says Sofia. Back in December, Sofia visited the CUBE headquarters in Waldershof to finalise plans for the upcoming season with the CUBE Actionteam and to get a feel for the brand itself.

She and her team mates will spend January and February at training camps preparing themselves for the 2019 race season and all four are looking forward to the first stop of the Enduro World Series in New Zealand on 24 March. "It's great to have a woman on the team. It's definitely something we've been missing. Sofia is a fantastic asset for us and will be a huge benefit in the EWS team classification. She has a super strong basis from the XC World Cup and will be able to build on those skills for international enduro racing. I'm excited to be working with Sofia and her professional attitude is already making her a great addition to the team!", says Claus Wachsmann, CUBE Actionteam Manager.
