Can I equip my CUBE bike with an electric drive?

Category: FAQ, Technik

Yes.

To meet the growing demand for so-called Pedelecs, we have dealt with this issue. Retrofit kits are now available at affordable prices. A distinction is made between drives that have only a supportive effect up to 25 km/h (Pedelecs) and bikes that can accelerate self-sufficiently over 25 km/h (E-bikes).

Our CUBE bikes are only approved for systems that can be assigned to Pedelecs.

Moreover, it is important to distinguish between front-wheel drive (motor drives the front wheel) and rear wheel drive (motor accelerates the rear wheel). Basically, all rear wheel drive systems are suitable.

However, there are following exceptions:

  • all carbon bikes
  • all road bikes
  • Sting, Stereo, Fritzz, Hanzz (Syntace X12 standard at rear wheel)

The installation should always be done by the dealer.

CUBE bikes with standard built-in rigid forks are not suited for front wheel drives. Please, ask at the respective manufacturers for bikes with suspension forks.

If you are planning to install a Gruber drive, please contact an appropriate dealer.
